Day 29 - Target parking lot..

When do you think the snow will be gone?  Some of us are guessing July - lol ok ok it should be gone way before July.  Most are saying April.  The snowbanks maybe a little longer.  I honestly can't wait to see the grass again.  

 There is a building behind that snow bank.. can you see it?  lol.

Day 27 - I'm speechless!

Woke up to about another 14" of snow!  When i looked out the window i was so shocked at how much snow we actually got.  I came downstairs and had to wake kevin up so he could come down and see it.  There are parts of our 4ft fence that you can not see anymore.  It's crazy!  The snow is now over our mailbox which is an already high mailbox.  Behind it is a hill but where the mailbox is, is flat.  Our poor puppy she's a lab/golden mix and she is having a hard time in the snow.
They are also calling for a clipper on saturday and also another big storm early next week.

Day 26 - my deck - yes more snow pictures

Today we are going to get a 1, 2 punch with snowstorms.  The first snowstorm started falling about 9:30 am, this storm wasn't suppose to arrive till 1 or 2pm.  It didn't put much down about 3" I believe.  It's the 2nd snowstorm they are worried about.  So we will see.

This is a picture of my deck.  We have never seen this much snow since living in CT.  Also, i don't think I have seen this much snow EVER!  I've lived in OH, IN and MD and I don't think OH or IN has had this much snow. MD well it doesn't get much usually.

Day 25 - Swing set

Well I haven't been the greatest at taking daily pictures, but i'm trying.  This is our swing set.  You ask why did I take a picture of it.  Well...  we are expecting another snowstorm and I wanted to document where the snow was on the swingset.  That's why.  This has been one snowy winter!

Day 23 - STEELERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL

Ever since i was a young girl I loved the Steelers.  My family is from the Pittsburgh area and most of them root for the steelers so you can say black and gold is in my blood.

Day 21 - Fur flower

I have some silly and creative girls.  My 10 yr old was brushing her cat and took the fur and created a Freckles flower from his fur.. It's kinda gross looking but also really neat.

Day 20 - i have growth!

Growth of my cherry tomato plants that is!  I wasn't sure if they were going to grow since they were really old seeds, but they are.  I"m really excited.  With all the white stuff we have outside it's nice to see something from a garden growing inside.

Day 18 - my girls

Ok today is not just one photo.. it will be two.  One each of my babies.  One is being totally silly trying to make scary eyes.  The other isn't feeling herself.  Not sure what is up with that.

Day 17 - A new kitchen sink!

I never liked the sink that came with my house.  It was black and plastic like and just never cleaned up well.  It developed a crack in it and we knew we would be having to replace it very soon.  Well on sunday my hubby heard a drip drip drip while i was doing the dishes.  He came up and realized that the faucet hose had finally given out.  He first just tried to replace the hose but that didn't work.  So we went sink and faucet shopping.  I now have a new sink and faucet and it's amazing how a stainless steel sink just brightens up that area of the kitchen.  I'm in love!

Day 16 - Crispy beef

MMMMMM Crispy Beef!  When living in Maryland the chinese restaurants there would make this dish called crispy beef.  Since living in CT, i have yet to find a place that makes the dish like the restaurants in MD did.  I really miss it.  So I decided to try my own hand at it.  I learned a new technique of dry frying the beef which is what gives it the crispiness.  The sauce was ok a little tweaking and it will be just like the dishes in MD.  One nice thing about making it at home is there is no MSG, i can control how much oil is used and salt.  Which makes it a much healthier dish.

Day 15 - falafel YUM!

We had a very busy day of going to 2 different bday parties.  We decided we didn't want to go home and cook from the busy day so we went to our favorite Turkish restaurant Turkish Kabob House in West Haven.  There food is really good there.  My cell phone didn't have the best lighting to take the picture.. 

Day 14 - the path

It's two days after the big snow storm and people everywhere are digging out.  Driving around town you see a lot of paths through the sidewalks.  I haven't seen this much snow in a long time.  This is our path going up to our front door.

day 13 - puppy time

I just love my animals and i'm always taking pictures of them as much as my kids.  My puppy sasha looks so comfy and content laying on the couch, or she up to no good.  hmmm what could it be.  Ah She's such a sweety she wouldn't get in trouble hahaha.. Oh does she ever!

day 12 - SNOW SNOW SNOW

New England got dumped on.  I think this is probably some of the most snow i've ever seen.  Woke up to about 16-20" of snow.  Some places got over 2ft of snow!  Insane.  The kids are enjoying all this snow though.  I took many photos of the snow.  Here's one of my favorites that shows how much big our snowbank is.  hubby is 6'1"

day 11 - autumn

I wanted to show off another of my little furbabies.  Autumn is the only girl cat in the 4 we have.  She is a little love bug.  She loves us all but she has taken a liking to my hubby, and he's the one doesn't like cats.  She can usually be found at his feet in his office or snuggled up with him the couch.  

day 10 - freckles

My daughter got kinectimals for the xbox.  It's a really cute game by the way.  She was playing it and our cat freckles (he's a 20 lb maine coon mix) was very interested in the black panther on the screen.  He won't chase the laser light but he'll sit and watch a black panther on the tv screen.  Silly cat.

day 9 - Double chocolate Oat energy bars

mmmmmm these just make my mouth drool just thinking about them.  My kids love these.  They kind of remind me of a brownie but just a wee bit healthier.  I've made changes to make them nutritionally better.  Me and a friend of mine always call them "our bars" because it's a recipe we both love to make and we are always making changes to it, by either adding sunflower seeds, grinding flax seeds up to add etc.

Day 8 - more xbox play

My hubby is playing xbox with A.   They were having a great time.  He lost in this game :( hehehe

day 7 - sasha

Sasha is our puppy we adopted in '09.  She's given us a run for our money but she has one big heart and is one of the sweetest little puppies you'll ever meet.  When we had our first snow fall of '09 she was like "what the heck is this cold white stuff".  She went outside and came back in.  Well now into her 3rd year of snow she is loving it.  We adopted her from TX, that's why she was hesitant on that white stuff.

Day 6 - A

This is of my youngest playing the xbox.  She loves it!  I believe she's playing kinect adventures.  Unfortunately this picture turned out darker than i thought.

Day 5 Homeschooling

Now if i could of went to school and was able to be as relaxed as my kids I might of learned more than I did.  They are doing their computer work.  One was watching a video on goals setting and the other working on her reading.

Day 4 - Kinectimals

The kids wanted this game so badly.  So we bought it for them and it's so cute.  This is a picture of one of my kids animal.

Day 3 - my salad for lunch

We were out and about today and went to this restaurant and it was kinda of a fancy italian restaurant, called Molto.  I got the grilled chicken ceasar salad.  It was really tasty.  I'd definitely go back to this restaurant in a heart beat.  They served some bread with olive oil with some pepper flakes in it.  Hubby got a panini burger and they served some interesting fries, they had basil and some hot pepper flakes on them too.  They were pretty tasty.

Day 2

Today we are taking down our christmas tree and decorations.  I snapped this photo while the girls were helping daddy dechristmasfy the tree.  Proof the kids can help!  lol

January 1st

This is my first picture of the year.  We got a laser light to play with our 4 cats.  Only 1 will play with us and he gets so playful.  He's also my oldest cat, go figure!
